What is a standing Seam?
A Standing Seam metal roof is a modern innovation on an age-old design. Traditionally Metal Roofs were secured using nails or screws driven though the material. Our Standing Seam materials are manufactured on-site and formed to fit the length or your roof, this means there are no horizontal seams required. The fasteners are installed on the inside and the panels are then mechanically 'seamed' together to form a weather tight 'Double Lock' seal. The result is a weather tight roof that is built to last.
Is Metal more expensive?
While the initial cost of installing a metal roof vs shingles is higher, this isn't the only cost that you should consider. Typically a metal roof will last 2 to 4 times longer than shingles. Unlike traditional shingles, a metal roof is essentially maintenance free. If you ever plan to sell your home, a metal roof will also greatly add to the value and curb appeal of your home.
Can a metal roof be installed on an older home?
A metal roof can be installed in place of regular shingles on just about any style of pitched roof. If you have shingles now, you can upgrade to metal.
